40 Days of Financial Stewardship Day 39

Here’s today’s devotional: Day 39

Luke 20:22-25 – “Tell us, is it against our Law for us to pay taxes to the Roman Emperor, or not?” But Jesus saw through their trick and said to them, “Show me a silver coin. Whose face and name are these on it?” “The Emperor’s,” they answered. So Jesus said, “Well, then, pay to the Emperor what belongs to the Emperor, and pay to God what belongs to God.”

Duties toward State Authorities

Romans 13:1 – “Everyone must obey state authorities, because no authority exists without God’s permission, and the existing authorities have been put there by God.

Romans 13:6-7 – “That is also why you pay taxes, because the authorities are working for God when they fulfill their duties.7Pay, then, what you owe them; pay them your personal and property taxes, and show respect and honor for them all.”
