To make progress in your financial life you might need an attitude adjustment. When you are facing financial problems, you can become stressed and/or depressed.
The first step to get out of financial problems is to an attitude adjustment. You need to remember that God is in control, not you. With His help and by surrendering everything to Him, including your finances, you can have a great and generous future.
God owns it all. You cannot take anything with you when you die. Store up treasures in heaven and not on earth. You are a manager of the finances God has entrusted to you. You can make progress in achieving financial freedom by spending only on your needs. You also need to start tithing.
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. – Malachi 3:10
God will provide for your needs. He will empower you to stay focused on your road to financial freedom,
The second step is to embrace the following, “With God’s help, I will pay my debt timely and be debt-free in 3, 5, or even 10 years.” You choose how many years it is going to take you to become debt-free. I just caution you to strive for five years or less to avoid debt fatigue.
Step three is avoid negative thinking. Stop saying, “I can’t. I don’t”. Instead, start learning about those things you don’t know. Let’s say you are confused about retirement saving or investing in the stock market. Instead of saying, “I don’t understand the stock market or retirement saving.” Change it to, “I will do what I need to learn about investments.” Commit yourself to spending an hour a week or so to learn the basics on investing. In no time at all, you will be saying, “I understand how mutual funds work. I know what rate of return means. I know what a load is.
When you adjust your attitude and change your focus to God, you will become more positive.
